Open Agáldar – Transgrancanaria 2027

Gáldar continues to gain prominence in the major events that project the name of Gran Canaria to the world. Today we present the new Open Agáldar distance, which will be included in The North Face Transgrancanaria 2027. A 21.4-kilometre race that will take in some of the most emblematic landscapes of our municipality, from the midlands, starting in Caideros and heading towards Saucillo, Samarrita, El Agazal, part of the Juncal ravine up to the Amagro mountain and, from there, down to the historic centre of Gáldar, showcasing our natural, heritage and historical wealth. For Gáldar it is a source of pride to be part of one of the most important trail running races in the world. The fact that this new distance bears the name Agáldar has enormous symbolic value: it speaks of our roots, our identity and the history of a town that was the first capital of Gran Canaria. We continue working so that sport, sports tourism and the promotion of our territory generate new opportunities and place Gáldar in the position it deserves. In two weeks, from 12:00 noon on 1 July, we will open registration through the official website of the race, www.transgrancanaria.net.
