Santa Brígida Pilgrimage to the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pino
Details
With the first light of Saturday, August 29, Santa Brígida will once again set out on its journey of faith to the Basilica of Our Lady of El Pino. A total of 300 residents of the town of Santa Brígida will take part in this pilgrimage which, held uninterruptedly since 1995, has become one of the most emblematic events in the municipality in the days leading up to the Romería-Ofrenda del Pino. The event, organized by the Santa Brígida Town Council, maintains its essence year after year on a route that combines effort, devotion and a spirit of fellowship. Departure is scheduled for 7:00 a.m. from the Plaza de la Iglesia. From there, the group will begin its ascent towards the Caldera de Pino Santo, a stretch with steep slopes that marks the natural border between Santa Brígida and Teror. After a stop for breakfast, the walkers will begin the descent from El Faro, already within the municipality of Teror, until they reach the historic center of the Marian town. Arrival is expected at around 11:00 a.m. and, as in previous years, the return journey will be by bus, which will be waiting for participants at 1:00 p.m. next to Plaza de Sintes to facilitate the trip back to the municipality. Registrations The registration period is open from August 3 (limited places). The participation fee is 4 euros per person (non-refundable) and includes individual accident insurance, breakfast in Pino Santo Alto, return transport service, and medical assistance with a basic life support ambulance along the route. The minimum age to participate is 9 years, and minors must be accompanied at all times by their parent or legal guardian.
