Barranquillo Andrés and Soria celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew from 21 to 30 August The neighbourhoods of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria are getting ready to enjoy their festivities in honour of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Andrew, from 21 to 30 August, with a full programme of leisure, religious, traditional and sporting activities. Organised by the Guapil Neighbours’ Association, with the collaboration of Mogán Town Council, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and private companies, the celebrations will begin on Friday 21 with the street decorations, the opening address by Nuria Ramos Vargas and the Escala en Hi-Fi gala. One of the most eagerly awaited moments will take place on Saturday 22 with the Romería-Ofrenda (pilgrimage and offering), which will set off from Soria at 19:00 and will be followed by an open-air dance with Dúo Purpurina. The programme also includes comedy and music events, children’s activities, bouncy castles, a community barbecue, soloist gatherings, the ‘Manolín Ramos’ Parranda Night, the traditional Bajada del Parrón and the Dawn Dance, among other events. On Sunday 30 August, the main religious event will be held with the celebration of the Eucharist and the subsequent procession through the streets of Barranquillo Andrés and Soria.
