La Atalaya is getting ready to celebrate its Festivities in honor of the Miraculous Holy Christ 2026. The Caitasa Neighborhood Association has announced the schedule of events that will take place from September 11 to 14. Friday, 11 8:00 p.m.: Celebration of Mass, followed by the emotional Torchlight Procession along the usual route, visiting the altars, a living symbol of the neighborhood’s ancestral faith in its Miraculous Holy Christ. The sung Encounter between Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows at night will mark the culminating moment of this procession, full of great beauty and spirituality. Saturday, 12 7:00 p.m.: The Romería-Offering to the Holy Christ of La Atalaya will be held, presented by Mª Pino Rodríguez Socorro and Francisco Santana Santana. There will be carts from local groups and residents, accompanied by parrandas and folk groups. The route will start from Plaza Mariquita Benítez and go up along Calle Cura Navarro to the Church Square. 10:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.: The Grand Open-Air Dance will take place, enlivened by the group Luz de Luna in Plaza Mariquita Benítez, with the carts displayed in their corresponding areas. Sunday, 13 12:30 p.m.: Mass accompanied by the folk group La Zarzalera. 1:15 p.m.: Procession accompanied by the Banda Isleña through the streets of the neighborhood. 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: The popular Canarian lunch will take place in Plaza Mariquita Benítez, with the collaboration of Alfonso Torres and musical entertainment by Acerina Show. Monday, 14 12:00 p.m.: Ringing of bells and fireworks from the Church. 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.: Thanksgiving Mass and end of the festivities, sharing among all attendees what has been contributed by the neighbors to bid farewell to the celebrations.
