Valleseco celebrates the Fiestas de Santa Rosa de Lima with a day of tradition, livestock farming and music in Lanzarote This Sunday, August 23, is its big day with the traditional Livestock Fair, around 3,000 euros in prizes and a musical gathering with Yeray Rodríguez and the Venezuelan artists Gustavo Colina and Ernesto da Silva The neighborhood of Lanzarote, in the municipality of Valleseco, is getting ready to celebrate the main day of its Fiestas de Santa Rosa de Lima this Sunday, August 23, where tradition, popular culture, livestock farming and music will come together in a day designed for the enjoyment of the entire population. One of the main events will be the traditional Livestock Fair, which will take place in the area located on the land of local resident Tito Santana. The event will bring together the livestock sector from the midlands of Gran Canaria and will showcase cattle, goats, sheep, horses, donkeys and mules. The fair is organized by the Lanzarote Festival Committee, with the collaboration of the Valleseco Town Council and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, and was created with the aim of supporting the livestock sector and highlighting an activity that is closely linked to the identity and traditions of the island’s rural world. Registration and entry of animals will take place from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., at which time the venue will be closed. From 10:30 a.m. onward, the public will be able to enjoy the exhibition of the participating animals. The fair will distribute around 3,000 euros in prizes. After the fair and the awards ceremony, events will continue with the religious service, the procession and the parade of the prize-winning livestock, thus keeping alive one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the Fiestas de Santa Rosa de Lima. At 5:00 p.m., the square in the neighborhood of Lanzarote will host the gathering “Galerón y Punto Cubano. Canarias y Venezuela”, an initiative that will bring together the Canarian musician and verse improviser Yeray Rodríguez with the Venezuelan artists Gustavo Colina and Ernesto da Silva, “El Ciclón d
