Valleseco strengthens its commitment to folklore and traditions with the Encuentro Folklórico La Manzana 2026 The gathering will be held this Saturday, 26 September, in the Plaza del Pueblo, with a day dedicated to Canarian music, dance, games and traditions. The Valleseco Town Council is holding this Saturday, 26 September, in the Plaza del Pueblo, the Encuentro Folklórico La Manzana 2026 – Regional Folklore Fair, an initiative that strengthens the municipality’s commitment to preserving traditions, encouraging local participation and highlighting the work carried out throughout the year by the different groups and associations in the municipality. The proposal, linked to the Fiestas de la Manzana and la Encarnación, aims to turn the square into a meeting place centred on Canarian popular culture, with a programme that combines music, dance, traditional games, children’s activities, workshops and the participation of folklore groups. The programme will start at 10:00 a.m. with a master class in traditional dance from Fuerteventura, given by Ayla Rodríguez Hernández. Afterwards, there will be performances by A.F. Abenechara, Los Labradores de Valleseco, Zumacal Los Amigos and José María Dávila. In the afternoon, the programme will continue with traditional Canarian games, the children’s show El cancionero isleño and a Canarian whistling workshop. The day will conclude with a baile de taifas, from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., featuring performances by the parrandas Los Paperos, El Pajullo, El Paradero and El Cura.
