Guided Tour of Agaete on World Tourism Day Program

Agaete is celebrating World Tourism Day, September 27, in collaboration with the Mancomunidad del Norte de Gran Canaria, with a program of activities designed to get to know our local entrepreneurs up close and highlight the resources that Agaete offers residents and visitors. All activities are free of charge and have limited capacity, with prior registration required at the Agaete Tourist Information Office (by calling 928 55 43 82 // 680 700 201 or writing to turismo@agaete.es). The program will begin on September 26 at 10:00 a.m. with a guided tour of the municipality of Agaete, a journey through the history, heritage and landscape of the town via some of its most emblematic places, such as the El Maipés Archaeological Park, the historic town center and the Puerto de Las Nieves. On September 27, the World Tourism Day Fair will take place in Santa María de Guía, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., organized by the Association of Municipalities of the North of Gran Canaria. The Agaete Town Council will be present with an information stand, showcasing the municipality’s tourism, cultural and heritage resources. The program will continue on October 3 at 10:00 a.m. with a visit to the coffee plantation Finca Los Castaños in the Agaete Valley. This visit will be an opportunity to get to know firsthand the tradition and cultivation of one of our most unique agricultural products: coffee. The schedule invites you to discover Agaete, explore its resources, appreciate its heritage and get closer to the people and activities that are part of the municipality’s tourism identity.
