Registration period for the 6th Manolo Ramos González Sculpture Contest will remain open until October Interested persons may submit their works until 23 October. The contest will award three prizes with a total amount of 2,000 euros. Arucas, 30 July 2026. - The Department of Culture, Democratic Memory and Historical Heritage of the Arucas City Council reminds that the submission period for works to participate in the 6th Edition of the Manolo Ramos González Sculpture Contest remains open, an initiative that aims to promote artistic creation and recognize the talent of sculptors of the Canary Islands. This is one of the main events promoted by the Arucas City Council to encourage the visual arts, strengthen the discipline of sculpture, and serve as a platform for emerging artists in the archipelago. The works submitted must be original and unpublished, must not have been awarded in other competitions, and may be created with free theme and technique, respecting the conditions established in the regulatory rules. The call includes a total financial allocation of 2,000 euros, distributed in a first prize of 1,000 euros, a second prize of 600 euros and a third prize of 400 euros. Each edition represents a new opportunity for sculptors from the Canary Islands to showcase their talent, as well as to pay tribute to the artist Manolo Ramos González. It is a well-established event in the municipality, through which the Arucas City Council reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of the visual arts and support for contemporary culture. Applications may be submitted through the General Registry of the Arucas City Council or by any of the means provided for in current legislation.
