World Tourism Day Fair in Santa María de Guía

Agaete celebrates World Tourism Day, 27 September, together with the Mancomunidad del Norte de Gran Canaria, with a programme of activities designed to get to know our local entrepreneurs up close and to highlight the resources that Agaete offers residents and visitors. All activities are free of charge and have limited capacity, with prior registration required at the Agaete Tourist Information Office (by calling 928 55 43 82 // 680 700 201 or writing to turismo@agaete.es). The programme will begin on 26 September at 10:00 a.m. with a guided tour of the municipality of Agaete, a journey through the history, heritage and landscape of the town, visiting some of its most emblematic places, such as the El Maipés Archaeological Park, the historic centre and the Puerto de Las Nieves. On 27 September the World Tourism Day Fair will take place, which will be held in Santa María de Guía from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., organised by the Mancomunidad de Ayuntamientos del Norte de Gran Canaria. Agaete Town Council will be present with an information stand, showcasing the municipality’s tourist, cultural and heritage resources. The programme will continue on 3 October at 10:00 a.m. with a visit to the Finca Los Castaños coffee plantation in the Agaete Valley. This visit will be an opportunity to learn first-hand about the tradition and cultivation of one of our most distinctive agricultural products: coffee. The programme invites you to discover Agaete, get to know its resources, appreciate its heritage and get closer to the people and activities that are part of the municipality’s tourism identity.
