3x3 basketball continues its tour around Gran Canaria and arrives in La Aldea de San Nicolás The Gran Canaria Island Basketball Federation continues bringing basketball to every corner of the island with a new promotional day for the FIBA 3x3 format, organized in collaboration with the Island Sports Institute of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the La Aldea de San Nicolás Town Hall, the La Aldea Sports Association and Baloncesto Santa Brígida. The activity will take place next Friday, June 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the La Aldea de San Nicolás Municipal Sports Centre. With this new stop, the 3x3 promotion program continues to expand its presence across the island, bringing this Olympic discipline to new municipalities and offering participation opportunities to young players. The session will begin with a brief introduction to the basic rules of 3x3, before moving on to organized games with the attendees themselves, forming teams of four participants. The activity is aimed at boys and girls born in 2013 or earlier and does not require prior registration. To take part, it will only be necessary to come with sports clothing and water, arriving at the venue at 5:50 p.m. The Gran Canaria Island Basketball Federation encourages all young people from the municipality and surrounding area to take part in this initiative, which aims to continue promoting basketball as an educational, sporting and social tool throughout the island.
