Exhibition “Las manos que hacían la loza”
Details
📍 The Agáldar Museum will host on September 3, at 12:00 p.m., the opening of the exhibition ‘The Hands that Made the Earthenware’, a show by multidisciplinary artist Iván Quintana. The exhibition brings together a collection of pieces of traditional earthenware from Gran Canaria, offering a journey through the production of the island’s four main pottery centers: La Atalaya de Santa Brígida, Lugarejos, Tunte, and Hoya de Pineda, in Gáldar. 🗣 Through this exhibition, Iván Quintana highlights one of the most unique craft traditions in the history and popular culture of Gran Canaria. The exhibition makes it possible to discover the variety of pieces created by the women potters and their close connection with the everyday life of the people living in the midlands and highland areas of the island. “It is a collection of pieces of traditional earthenware from Gran Canaria, with the typology of the island’s four pottery centers,” explains the artist. 👉 More information at galdar.es
