“VAMOS DE CINE” Free open-air screenings PLAZA LOMO LOS FRAILES THURSDAY, JULY 16 7:00 pm Family screening of “ERNEST AND CELESTINE’S JOURNEY”, a gem of European auteur animated cinema 9:00 pm “LA LUCHA” by José Alayón Festival cinema takes center stage in a fascinating session that brings back to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the Richard Leacock Award for Best Feature Film. Together with LPA Film Festival we are bringing back the multi-award-winning “LA LUCHA”, the epic story of a wrestling hero both inside and outside the ring. The Tenerife-born director José Alayón portrays Canarian wrestling on screen as never before, in a drama in which a widowed father and his daughter seek refuge in sport. With veteran wrestler Tomasín Padrón, who makes his film debut, the movie is also defined by the landscapes of Fuerteventura.
