There are flavours that tell the story of a people, and this Sunday they have a date in Piso Firme. Next Sunday, July 5, from 10:00 a.m. onwards, Piso Firme will celebrate the 27th Onion Festival, a day dedicated to one of Gáldar’s most emblematic products and to the work of generations of farmers who have made it possible to preserve unique varieties thanks to their flavour, quality, and adaptation to our land. Enjoy a day where tradition, gastronomy, and folklore come together with tastings of products made with onion, the traditional heaviest-onion contest, tributes to those who have devoted their lives to working the land, and folk performances that will provide the soundtrack to one of the municipality’s most beloved festivities. In addition, this year the festival will have a grand finale with a performance by Pepe Benavente. An opportunity to discover, savour, and support a local product that is part of Gáldar’s agricultural identity.
